Processing thin sections requires special sample preparation techniques. Delta PetroCut is an abrasive cutting machine specially designed for cutting stone, minerals, glass, concrete or similar materials. PetroThin F is the ideal machine for preparing thin sections. Built-in vacuum pump ensures that petrographic thin sections are securely held in the holder when cutting and grinding. First the sample is cut off with a cutting wheel. Then it is ground down to the required thickness using a grinding wheel.
